Childminding Service Information for Parents

Hours

My normal childminding day is from Monday to Friday 7.30am – 6pm. However all requirements can be discussed.

Fees

My standard fees are £3.50 per hour and £5.00 per hour for school drop off and pick-up upto 1hr before and after, this includes a wide range of healthy snacks including fruit and vegetables and a choice of water, milk or low sugar diluted juice to drink.

I am happy to negotiate fees and I offer discounts for siblings.

Nutritional breakfast can be provided at a cost of 50p and a healthy lunch inluding dessert is available for £1.00.

The standard fees include all materials required for activities undertaken during the week and any standard outings to the library or local parks.

All fees are payable weekly or monthly in advance by cash, cheque or direct debit.

Additional Charges

To provide children in my care with a range of experiences and help them to learn skills in different environments I organise regular outings. Additional charges will be made for these outings which are usually to venues which charge entrance fees. I endeavour to keep these charges as low as possible and I will always inform parents in advance of organised outings.

Additional charges will also be payable for any regular car journeys such school, nursery or after-school activity trips. Such additional charges will be agreed at the point of arranging our contract.

Qualifications and Training

To allow me to provide the best possible service to children in my care and their parents I have undertaken extensive training and have attained numerous qualifications including those listed below. My training transcripts and certificates may be viewed at any time upon request.

Lorna Smith Childminding - Aims and Objectives

To provide a warm, caring and friendly environment to help the child feel at home and settled whilst away from their parents or carers.

To provide lots of fun and educational activities, catering for each child’s age and ability, to help them to develop skills learning through play.

To interact with the child regularly and form a strong bond enabling the child to feel valued and able to express their feelings and opinions as an individual.

To form a close bond with parents and carers, so they feel they can leave their children with me and know that they are safe, happy and secure, and at anytime they can approach me about their child and discuss any matters in an open and friendly manner.

To keep parents and carers regularly updated on what the child has been doing by providing weekly update sheets and my subscription e-newsletter to give parents and carers an idea of what their child does whilst in my care.
